Using ImageSift
This section walks you through a number of step by step instructions which demonstrates how you can start with a collection of images and extract image series from them.

Step 1 - The first step in using ImageSift always consists of giving it the mixed images. This is easily accomplished by a Drag and drop of your pictures to the panel on the left hand side.
Don't worry if there are pictures that are not part of the series or if there are duplicate file names used, they will be taken care of later.
Step 2 - For each series, drag and drop one or more 'representative' pictures to each of the panels on the right hand side, or select them and press the "Create new Serie" button to create a new panel with the pictures in it.
The representative picture(s) should be ones that are most like a typical picture in the series.
Step 3 - Press the "Sift Images" button.
Images will be sifted and placed in the best series. They will be placed (ordered) based on their likeliness to the representative images.
Note: This step may take some time while the pictures are analyzed.
Step 4 - Using your computer's desktop, drag pictures for each series to desired directory.
Note: Generally, there should not be duplicate filenames remaining in each series, but if there are, and if they are different, make sure you do not overwrite them while performing this step.
Step 5 - Once images in each series have been extracted, there may be some leftovers. You can press the Reload button to move those images back into the left panel, and remove all the series, or you can press the Clear button which will clear all panels. In either case, you are ready to add more mixed images to the left panel and sift them again.
