Using Batch Image Processor (BEEP)
This section walks you through a number of step by step instructions which demonstrates how to convert any number of pictures at one time. With BEEP you can do one or more of the following to any number of images in one step:
- Image Resizing: Either to a specific size, or with only width or height constraints.
- Image Transformation: Horizontal and vertical mirroring, clockwise or counterclockwise rotation.
- Image Conversion: Read from one format and write to another.
- Image Processing: Dozens of special effect, color correction, and filtering operations.
Step 1 - The first step in using BEEP always consists of giving it the source images. This is easily accomplished by a Drag and drop of your pictures to the panel on the left hand side.
Step 2 - Select the modifications you'd like to make in the center part of the window. For example, enter 20% and 20% in the fields to size pictures to 20% of their size. Or select an effect to have that effect apply to all pictures.
Step 3 - Press the "Convert" button.
Step 4 - Using your computer's desktop, drag the converted pictures from the right hand side to the desired directory.
Hints and Tips
Tip #1 - You do not have to specify both Width and Height values. If you need pictures that are of a fixed width or height, only specify that value and it will scale the picture while maintaining the appropriate proportions. For example:
If you have three pictures of the following dimensions:
800x600
400x400
200x100
If you specify Width of 100, you will obtain three pictures with the following dimensions:
100x75
100x100
100x50
In this case, all pictures were sized to Width of 100 while maintaining their aspect ratio.
If you specify Height of 100, you will obtain three pictures with the following dimensions:
133x100
100x100
200x100
In this case, all pictures were sized to Height of 100 while maintaining their aspect ratio.
if you specify Width of 50% and/or Height of 50%, you will obtain three pictures with the following dimensions:
400x300
200x200
100x50
In this case, all picture's dimension's were sized to half their original size.
Tip #2 - You can speed up program performance by selecting not to see the icons for the source/destination files. This is specially useful if the source images are very large and you are creating icons from them. By making this selection, BEEP will not need to read the source files in order to display them as icons in addition to read the source files in order to process them.
