Using ASCII Art
This section walks you through a number of step by step instructions which let you generate an ASCII Artwork from a photo graph.
Before proceeding, you are required to find a photograph that has little detals and distinct and bold coloring. In general, if the photograph could be resized to an icon-sized photo and it is clear what it represents, it will probablymake good ASCII art.
Step 1 - The first step in using ASCII Art always consists of giving it the source images. This is easily accomplished by a Drag and drop of your pictures to the panel on the upper-left hand side.
Step 2 - Modify the settings desired. If the photograph is to be printed on paper, make sure "White on Dark" is not selected. Also select how wide the photograph should be.
Step 3 - Press the "Create" button.
Step 4 - Using your computer's desktop, drag the converted pictures from the right hand side to the desired directory. This will copy the ASCII Art in a plain text file for you.
Hints and Tips
Tip #1 - Use the widest possible size. If priting, using a size wider size and smaller font will always give better results than larger font and smaller width. Remember, that the ASCII Art will always need to be printed or viewed using a mono-spacef font, such as courier.
